"La întoarcerea din Vietnam, John Rambo - fost membru al Beretelor Verzi și decorat cu Medalia de Onoare - este răvășit de schimbările pe care le găsește acasă, de atitudinea celor pentru care își riscase viața, de atmosfera ostilă la care nu se poate adapta. Schilodit sufletește de ororile războiului, dezamăgit de lipsa de compasiune a celor pentru a căror liniște luptase, John încearcă să își găsească partenerii de luptă, aceștia fiind singurii care i-ar putea înțelege zbuciumul intern și alături de care s-ar putea simți om, din nou."
